IP Unity Strengthens Senior Team, Adding Accomplished Marketing and Product Management Vice President Nithya A. Ruff, Promoting Subhajit Bagchi to Senior Vice President of Customer Operations and Quality

MILPATAS, Calif — September 13, 2005— IP Unity, a leader in carrier-grade media servers, application servers and real-time multimedia applications for IP and TDM networks, announced today that it has hired Nithya A. Ruff as its new Vice President of Product Management and Marketing, and promoted Subhajit Bagchi to Senior Vice President of Customer Operations and Quality.

Nithya comes to IP Unity from Avaya, where most recently she was Director of Services Marketing. She led Avaya’s professional services and application support offer creation and marketing for IP-based solutions, serving large enterprises worldwide. Subhajit joined IP Unity in 2004 to expand global customer service operations for IP Unity’s rapidly growing service provider base. His scope now includes deployment and ongoing support for networks in 34 countries, as well as for new and enhanced products launched since he joined the company.

Ms. Ruff most recently launched a breakthrough business communications consulting practice within Avaya Global Services. In her previous role as Director of Product Management for Avaya’s Voice Messaging and Unified Communications group, she attained a number of high-profile successes including maintaining Avaya’s #1 status in worldwide voice messaging shipments and launching Avaya’s next generation voice messaging solution. She also served as vice president of business development and marketing for Sychron, a resource management company, and director of product and strategic marketing for Tripwire, a security and change auditing start-up. She has also held various strategy and marketing positions with Silicon Graphics and Eastman Kodak.

Prior to his tenure at IP Unity, Mr. Bagchi served as general manager of a business unit in JDS Uniphase. He joined JDS Uniphase through their acquisition of Altamar Networks, a provider of switching and transmission systems, where Subhajit headed their engineering organization across three continents, and delivered, deployed and supported multiple carrier grade new products. Prior to JDSU / Altamar, Subhajit spent several years in various senior management positions at Lucent Technologies and Octel Communications (acquired by Lucent in 1997).
