IP Unity Glenayre aids convergence with new version of next generation communications platform
Versera ICETM 3.0 now fully commercially availableCTIA Wireless 2007, ORLANDO, FL — March 27, 2007— IP Unity Glenayre, Inc., the new leader in delivering carrier-grade messaging and multimedia solutions over IP, TDM and enterprise networks, today announced that the latest release of its next generation communications platform – Versera Intelligent Communications Environment (ICE) is now fully commercially available.
The new solution – Versera ICETM 3.0 – can support twice as many ports or sessions than before. The platform has expanded voicemail functionality to meet the converging needs of wireline, wireless and cable operators, and provides the foundation for advanced applications such as video portal, video mail, and personalized messaging services. Visitors to the IP Unity Glenayre booth (number 1363) at CTIA Wireless 2007, taking place in Orlando this week, will be able to see live demonstrations of many new applications that are enabled by Versera ICE 3.0, including Versera Video Portal and Versera My Services 3.0.
“Communications services are rapidly converging, and anyone wishing to play a part in this new landscape must ensure that their solutions can support all providers in the delivery of advanced messaging, media and mobility services over any network,” said Arun Sobti, Chairman and CEO of IP Unity Glenayre. “Wireless, wireline and cable providers around the world have used Versera ICE to bring the latest applications to millions of subscribers; the newly launched platform will enhance their offering with a suite of advanced applications, which will, in turn, enable carriers to differentiate their services and reduce subscriber churn.”
With its ability to support both IP and circuit-switched telephony, Versera ICE bridges legacy and next-generation systems, supporting operators transitioning their networks, or managing multiple network types, to utilize one messaging platform across their system. Architected in Java and VoiceXML, Versera ICE is also able to function as an IMS application server and has the potential to support some of the SIP-based functions currently proposed for the IMS Media Research Function.
CTIA Wireless is taking place between 27-29 March 2007, at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida. To request an interview with IP Unity Glenayre, please contact Jill Budzynski/ Tina Tan at 763-548-8208.
